FIREMAN SAM BRAVE NEW RESCUES
DETAIL
THE game was up for little Alfie Vargas when he got his hand stuck trying to reach a bouncy ball toy from a games machine.
The inquisitive toddler had to be rescued by firefighters when he shoved his hand up the chute where balls came out and couldn’t get it back out.
The three-year-old was chuffed to bits when his mum gave him a £1 to buy a bouncy ball from a machine in a cafe in Hartlepool.
Minutes later, however, he was squealing for help after trying to reach for the colourful balls himself.
A fire crew and ambulance rushed to his aid, at the West Quay, and it took them more than two hours to pull his tiny hand free.
Worried mum Sharon Parkin, 36, of Horden, Peterlee, County Durham, said: “Alfie went over to the ball machine with his cousin and had put his £1 coin in but a ball didn’t come out.
“So without me seeing, he quickly put his hand into the bit where the ball comes out and reached inside, but he got trapped.

ROMANTIC ENGLISH LOVE SONGS 2012
DETAIL
From Frank Sinatra to Lil Wayne? According experimental music video group,CDZA, this is how far romantic music has come between the '50s and the present day. To prove it, CDZA made a video titled "History of Wooing Women" to showcase the evolution.
The mashup begins with The Platters' classic "Only You," which was released in 1955 and takes viewers on a musical tour from then until 2010, where we end with Enrique Iglesias' slightly less classy "Tonight (I'm F**kin' You)." Whereas dudes used to try to "hold your hand" and tell you that "you're just too good to be true," now they just let you know that they'd like to "do it like they do on the Discovery Channel" and wish you'd "back that a** up." Oh, progress...
Other artists covered in this incredible video include: The Beatles, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, The Police, Peter Gabriel, Tenacious D, Ying Yang Twins, Eminem and Akon. Are there any other songs you wish CDZA had included?
